The Kitchen’s menu is a celebration of timeless favorites served with thoughtful care and a touch of culinary creativity. Start your day with their acclaimed Cast Iron Chocolate Chip Pancakes, fluffy and rich with melty chocolate pockets that promise to delight every bite. The breakfast burrito is legendary—a limited but irresistible treat that Adriana from a recent visit called the absolute best she’s ever had, highlighting how each dish is crafted with an inviting authenticity that’s hard to match.
For lunch and dinner, the variety astonishes. Dive into the nostalgia of the Meatloaf Dinner, a perfect balance of savory, tender, and heartfelt flavors, or savor the generous Hamburger with a patty so substantial it outshines the bun, paired with hand-cut fries that Walt Tarpley described as simply wonderful. The Quiche & Potatoes and Fish and Chips are other standout dishes that marry freshness with comforting familiarity, while the Baked Beans and Mashed Potatoes That Looked Like Soup add that touch of hearty indulgence unique to home-cooked classics.
Desserts like the Buttermilk Pie with Blackberry Compote close the meal on a delightfully sweet note, with Roger Lee from the UK capturing perfectly how it’s irresistible, rich in both flavor and nostalgia. Every bite at The Kitchen is imbued with the reverence of artisan cooking, guided by the hands of a chef and owner who serves not just food but genuine connection in every dish.
The ambiance complements the menu beautifully. The rustic pine wood paneling and vintage decor transport diners to a beloved era of simple joys and good company, evoking a sense of warmth and familiarity. The environment, paired with attentive, friendly service—even when the chef is managing the kitchen solo—ensures a personalized and comfortable dining experience that feels like an invitation to stay a while.

Whether you're craving a sumptuous breakfast, a satisfying burger, or a slice of comforting pie, The Kitchen promises to nourish your body and soul with dishes made from the heart. As Jay D so aptly put it, the food here is “AMAZING” and the experience, truly a blessing.
I really couldn't recommend it enough. Comfortable place. Food is AMAZING. Everything was cooked different than other places but in such a good way. May God bless this place.
I brought my family from out of town here before the Cograil and they accommodated us well. The server was alone but very attentive and kind. The chef/ owner is a one man shop and executed the food in a timely manner. The absolute best pancake and breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. My family was impressed and satisfied with their meals. We will definitely be back. The nostalgia and history of the restaurant is beautiful as well.
Over from the UK and this was exactly the sort of place I had hoped to find. You could walk past this place as it looks a little scruffy but when we read the menu we knew we had to eat there. Meat loaf and chilli were excellent our friends had the quiche and salad. Friendly service from the owner/cook who was a real character. Couldn’t resist the buttermilk pie either berries.
Excellent food quality. First time I’ve had a hamburger whose meat patty was bigger than the bun in a long time. Delicious and fresh. Hand cut fries are wonderful. 8 year old Grandson had the fried chicken legs with the fries and homemade biscuit and ate it up. Optics are nostalgic from 60’s - love the real pine wood paneling. Located just north of downtown shopping district and at foot of hill from the Miramont Castle. Very walkable
The Kitchen in Manitou Springs is a cozy delight! Homemade fries were really delicious and fresh. Chicken salad sandwiches were scrumptious as well. Highly recommend!
Mom and pop diner. I love all the pictures of original owners on the wall. Food was excellent. There was only one man (the owner) working this morning but the service was still 10/10. The food was made fresh and hot. Biscuits taste homemade. Potatoes are a must. The portions were perfect. I would definitely go again.
